NATS Day Off

During the NATS Day off, let’s catch up – did you know that:

–On the day that Max Scherzer lost (Wednesday, Apr 12) – but had 10 strikeouts versus the Cardinals – two other pitchers did the exact same thing:  Danny Salazar (Indians) and John Lackey (Cubs).  Three pitchers lose with ten strikeouts on the same day; a long time since that happened.

–Daniel Murphy came close to hitting for the cycle this week, but Will Myers (Padres) actually did it, the first cycle of 2017, on April 10th in a Padres win against the Rockies.

–Speaking of the Padres, Clayton Kershaw’s (Dodgers) salary is more than the whole payroll of the San Diego Padres.

–And, how about Yoenis Cespedes (Mets)?  3 HRs in one game on Apr 11 – now the first Mets player to do it twice!

–Weird MLB Player Contracts for 2017:  Rougned Odor (Rangers) agreed to terms on a six year extension ($49.5 million) which included receiving 2 horses as part of the deal (he already has 4 horses in Venezuela).
