NATS Continue Rockies Slug Fest with 11 Runs (14 Hits)

Bryce Harper (.432) went 4-for-4 in his 3rd four-hit game of the year and Trea Turner (.326) had the makings of a cycle (short of a triple) the night after with a HR (5th), single (7th) and a double (8th).  Daniel Murphy (.330) and Ryan Zimmerman (.387) homered, with Murphy putting up 3 RBI (that’s 4 NATS hitting above .300).  Total bases on the night looked like this:

Turner:  7

Zimmerman:  6

Harper:  5

Murphy:  5

Werth/Eaton:  1

SP Tanner Roark (3.64) struggled in the 5th, loading the bases and walking in a run (an unusual 4 walks for Roark) but escaped with only 2 earned runs on his outing.  Oliver Perez (5.40) got a hold in the 6th, But Blake Treinen (10.0) gave up 2 runs after that.  Matt Grace (0.00) closed things off facing 5 batters with 1 hit and no runs/walks.

Grace replaced Koda Glover (DL) on the roster.  Other NATS currently on the 10-day DL:  Stephen Drew (leg) and Sammy Solis (elbow) plus Stephen Strasburg is on paternity leave.
