RENDON Bustin’ Loose with 3 HRS, NATS Bats Going Crazy and….D.C. Washington Hits his own Home Run

First about Anthony Rendon:  3 HRS (his first HR of 2017), 3-run double (so close to a grand slam), 10 RBI, 6-for-6

1st player since 1913 to go 6-for-6 with 3 HRS

New NATS Record:  RBIs in one game (10).  Also, first to get 10 RBI in one game since 2007.  The MLB record is 12 (both Cardinals):  Jim Bottomley (1924) and Mark Whiten (1993).

Other HR’s today:  2 by Matt Wieters (.301) and 1 by Adam Lind (.345).   Wieters went 3-for-5, with 4 RBI.  Michael Taylor (.219) had a good day going 2-for-6 with 2 RBI, and Ryan Zimmerman (.420) continued his upward trajectory with 3 hits, 3 runs and 2 RBI.

Harper (.391):  set an MLB record to runs in April (32), going 2-for-4 on the day with 4 runs scored.

Joe Ross (7.47) struggled again in 4 innings.  He gave up 5 earned runs on 7 hits, giving up two HRS and striking out 5.   Matt Albers (0.00) pitched the 5th and 6th innings without giving up any runs.  Oliver Perez (3.86) and Joe Blanton covered the 7th and 8th (no runs, and Blake Treinen came in for the 9th facing 4 batters with no runs.
D.C. Washington:  And, the game was graced by the amazing voice of D.C. Washington for the National Anthem and God Bless America, which may have been a factor in all of this amazing offense (thank you D.C.).
