NATS Strong on the Road (12-3 away, 9-6 at home); now .700

Anthony Rendon’s (.290) 3-run homer in the 6th put the NATS up 6 to 1, Ryan Zimmerman (.435) homered with 3 RBI, and Daniel Murphy (.341) went 3-for-4 scoring 2 runs.  Strong NATS defense was on display in support of SP A.J. Cole, with Anthony Rendon rocketing some throws and Jayson Werth rifling one in about 70 mph, both for some impressive (and very welcome) outs.

A.J. Cole (1.50) pitched 6 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits and 4 walks, facing 24 batters (109 pitches/58 strikes).  Oliver Perez (4.50) gave up 1 run (a solo HR to Cameron Rupp) in the 7th, and Jacob Turner (2.77) put up zeroes in the 8th and 9th, striking out 1 (5 batters, 22 pitches, 14 strikes).
